I don't know about London, but my family is Swedish and we have a smorgasbord every Christmas eve with Swedish meatballs, pickled herring and Spritz cookies. They are the best. Here is the recipe.

SWEDISH SPRITZ COOKIES

Christmas cookie favorites. 1 tsp. almond extract 4 1/4 c. flour 1 3/4 c. white sugar 3 egg yolks, unbeaten Dash of salt if desired

Mix all ingredients together until thoroughly blended. Press through cookie press using star disk and form small rings (about 2 inches in diameter) on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees just until bottoms of cookies are light brown. Carefully remove cookies from cookie sheet with spatula and cool on plates or racks. Store in air tight container. These are traditional Swedish cookies.
