I have some ripped jeans that I bought at abercrombie a while ago. I LOVE them, but everytime I wear them people make snotty remarks about them like "don't you need new jeans" or "those jeans are disgusting." I paid a lot for them and I think they look cool. What do people have against ripped jeans? They're cool, right? I'm not going to stop wearing them no matter what, but are they a big fashion don't?

First of all, I love Abercrombie ripped jeans. Secondly, people who have a problem with them, well, just have a problem with them. If you like them that's all that matters. Wear them with confidence, it will make the people who are critcizing them not want to criticize them as much. Don't pay attention to the comments. After a while, once the people find out that their comments aren't bugging you, they'll stop. And in the mean time, just say, "I like them. They're different, cool, and trendy." Then compliment something about them. And try to be sincere. And to answer your last question, ripped jeans are not a fashion don't. They're actually very in!

Wow! I want to go wherever you're from. I feel that the ripped jean fashion is...well, stupid, simply because when you buy something new, why would you want it ripped.

They are "in fashion" according to that if I were to go to the mall right now 90% of girls under 30 and over 12 wearing jeans would be ripped. People are probably just jealous that you can afford excessively expensive designers (A&F) and on top if it get the clothes ripped.

The jeans sound cute but if they are ripped a lot then i could see why people would say rude remarks about them. They are not a fashion don't unless they are extremely shaggy and ripped up. The people that are saying the mean things to you are either jealous or your jeans really do look bad..

Well wear whatever you like and whatever style you like I mean different people have different styles. Those people that tell you things probably say that to make themselves look good when they have really cheap clothing on.
I don't have a problem with ripped jeans I like them! . As long as the jeans aren't way too ripped up they are okay!!

i love ripped jeans and have a few pairs. if the jeans have an ugly hole like really big then they look trashy, but most abercrombie jeans aren't like that. if people don't like them and you want to do something different to make them look cuter yuo could wear cute leggins, striped or solid under them or cute legwarmers over top of them. wear what you like!!:-) (especially if they cost a lot. like 40$, iwouldn't stop wearing them either.

You don't have better things to spend your money on than broken clothing? If you like ripped jeans, buy some at the Salvation Army, or just get some cheap ones and wear through them yourself. People that tell you they're stupid are not jealous, they just have common sense. Seriously, if you buy pre-ripped jeans, you're obviously trendy and wasteful enough to spend a couple minutes ripping a cheaper pair.
Cool is not what Abercrombie or your peers tell you is cool, or what 17 or YM tells you is cool, by the way. If you have to ask if something is cool, then it probably isn't, since you define what is cool to you.

people respond to them negatively because it's obviously a ridiculous concept to pay someone to destroy your jeans for you. and yeah, i know you paid a lot of money, and so do they. that's why they make snide remarks because they know the clothing corporation got the best of you. plus...uh...slave labor??? abercrombie and fitch has spent years selling products for insane prices just to make you look like you own 'vintage' 'dirty' or 'destroyed' clothing. it's not necessarily a fashion don't, just if you're going to wear something like that, buy authentic stuff, not expensive imitations.

and by the way, the people saying mean things are not "jealous". they may be arrogant jerks, but believe me, they probably put you down because you're already too high up on your high-priced pedastal

I think that Abercrombie jeans look like crap, and they overdo it with the ripping. Lots of really great jeans have some kind of "distressing" but some stupid companys think "HEY! PEOPLE LIEK RIPS IN THEIR JEANS LETS MAKE JEANS THAT ARE REALLLY REALLY RIPPED!" and those jeans end up looking like crap.
