I don't like vegetables either! I find them best in Pasta with cheese sauce or tomato sauce and meat (mince, chicken, seafood). You can make pies and add them in, casseroles, cottage pie, stir fry. Cooking them in margarine in a frying pan until they are soft and adding garlic (fresh or powder) and mixed herbs (can be found in Tesco or Asda in the seasoning section. it will be in a small bottle) makes for a tasty side dish.Try out different vegetables and stick to the ones you like. If you really hate them then why not chop them really finely so you don't notice that they are there. The best vegetables in my opinion are garlic (good for cleaning the blood), onions (prevents illness), peppers, courgettes, broccoli, cauliflower, leeks, spring onions, carrots, peas and sweetcorn as these are really easy to chuck in a stir fry with lots of flavouring. It only takes about 15 minutes to cook. You don't have to put all of them in the stir fry at once. Make sure that the margarine is high in polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats and low in saturated fats. If you can buy one with omega 3 that's even better. Just double check with your GP what you should and should not eat, if you haven't already. The trick is to experiment and try loads of different recipes until you find a range of meals you like. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Well potatoes are not the best veggies lol. Make sure your taking a multi vitamein like Womans one a day. And start off with a little of something. If your really picky try organic 100% juices that have real fruit juice in them. If its 100% you dont have to worry abou the sugars or anything. Also I found this new V8 juice its called V8 Fusion, and in one 8 oz. glass it has all the fruit and veggies you need in a day, and it tastes great. So try looking into things like that.

Well i've never had this problem, i am actually the opposite, lol. But if you like potatoes, than that is good, they are very healthy for you. Make sure you're taking your pre-natals, that will take care of most of the concern. Fruits can be very yummy if you make them into a smoothie. One of my favorite things! I use frozen mixed berries, citrus juice (like orange or passion fruit is best), and cool whip (is a guilt free treat so use as much as you like) put all this in a blender and then enjoy! YUM YUM. With the cool whip in there it tastes like icecream, so can't go wrong there. Of course it would be best for you and baby to eat more veggies, but if you are taking your pre-natals, then i wouldn't be too concerned about it. Good luck with everything!

Try washing some red split lentils, chop an onion, garlic clove, broccolli, carrots (celery cauli, Cabbage) cook with chicken stock cubes then blend with hand blender season to taste lovely thick healthy soup. I work with children 5-16 who HATE veg They make this at our club and always ask for more. Good luck:) If your so worried what about a pregnancy vitamin ie pregnacare or tesco do there own brand. Wash down with fresh orange

hi there! no need to worry, I am a very fussy eater too. I don't eat any fruit and only eat veg if its blended down in soup, you should try that. My baby is due in 4 days & i have therefore carried to full term with an average sized baby according to my midwife. i have just ate whatever i wanted & i don't like milk which they recommend in the beginning. Not had much veg til recently as i only eat soup when its colder so no need to fret! goodluck, hope you have a smooth pregnancy.

Start off slow, try abit f fruit once a day then just slowly add another day by day or week by week.
you will find fruit more easy to eat than veg if your not keen on either because of the sweetness of fruit, that's what i done during my pregnancy and my son has come out with no problems and he eats fruit and veg now!
just take it slow and dont worry to much about getting loads of it in just take your time and start slowly with them and your baby wont suffer from it! i bet your baby will be healthy and lovely!
Good Luck x

Just try them again- you might be pleasantly surprised.
Jacket potatoes can have all sorts of delicious toppings added to them, and if you like spaghetti bolognase, you put all sorts of veggies in the sauce.
Fruit can be juiced, or eaten with yoghurt, or even dipped into melted chocolate if you're feeling naughty(!)
You can chop up bananas into your breakfast cereal, eat a handful of nice refreshing refrigerated grapes...
Just remember to wash all fruit and veg before you eat it.
Congratulations on your pregnancy, and remember that your prenatal vitamins will provide a lot of the nutrition that you need, but don't rely on them completely.

You should definitely try to eat as well as possible, but i am just like you! I hate veggies and although I like some fruits I rarely eat them. That being said I have 2 healthy children. Take lots of vitamins. That's what I did.

Fruit salads are a good start. You can try making veg more interesting by spicing them up - having a veg curry when you go for a takeaway (Bombay Aloo or Sag Aloo is nice), choosing mixed veg stir fry when you go for a Chinese adding them to pasta etc.
Also take a prenatal supplement so that even if you can't get "5 portions a day" (I rarely do! In fact I don't know anyone who does!) your baby still gets the vitamins and minerals it needs.

Wow thats difficult. But I'm going to try some suggestions anyway
that may or may not appeal to you.
So you never ate or loved any fruits or vegetebales at all?
Not any?
Dont think about having to eat cucumber or tomato like a rabbit yet. so forget vegetables first. Start with fruits.
The sugarly smell of fresh ripe fruits could help you start loving them.
So Instead try smelling some good looking 'ripe' sugary
smelling fruits first. Fruits that appeal to you. at first sight.
Dont eat them yet, just have a smell.
The thought of having to eat them. isnt nessecary yet.
Just smell them when you come across any. Wherever
and when you feel like it.
And play with the thoughts of the smells.
It may arouse the hunger for them later on.
Its not about pushing yourself or desperately having to eat healthy "right now". It wont work.
Believe me.
Most people cannot resist the smell and to sink their teeth into a soft ripe peachy sugary tasting delicious pear.
You could also try canned fruit first.
They are sugared wich helps enrich the flavours of the fruits they naturaly have. Theres a reason why they can them in sirop :)
Sugared frutis arent healthy, but if it helps you to get into
the taste of fruit.. why not. Dig in! Any is better than nothing.
you know them cans and glasses with those cherries,
pears, pineapples and those peeled mandarin parts?.
The same that are on birthday cakes you like eating off first?
(most people do anyways)
You can now have a whole can of any of those fruits you choose just for yourself!
Only thing you have to do is buy a can. And mostly they are cheap.
As you develop a craving for the sensual taste of those sugary fruit in time (ripe fruits are sugary, non-ripe are just bitter and casue constipation),
you will see you can become aware of the additive sugar
And from there you'd slowly start eating fruits in their more ripe and natural state
Veggies:
Most people will grow to eat more vegetables when they start to pour alot of dressing on them at first.
Most people like em like that.
Same with this, you will in time become aware of the
natural powerfull flavours of veggies in time. With no dressings at all.
Think thats impossible? Maybe your more of a challenge person.
Then this could prove challenge for ya.
Good luck.
