Some woman can't breast feed... Does that make them irresponsible? NO
I do agree there are many things moms and dads do that in ur oppinion are irresponsible/ dumb but they are ur opinions. There is no perfect parent. Every mom and dad IS going to make many mistakes. I say just try ur best and do what u think is right. Dont do things or not do things just because u think everyone else in the world thinks thats the way it should be. No one has room to judge anyone else. If u think something isnt right in child rearing then dont do it. Thats the joy of choices. Do what u think and dont worry about what others are doing. As long as ur kids are growing and and are happy and are completely loved then dont freek out over stupid pidley crap. Life is hard enough to be worrying what others think. So with all that said i dont think any parent is dumb for makeing the choice to breast feed or not, put cereal in a bottle or not, or freeken circumsise their child or not. That is their choice and they have a right to that. All because it dont agree with YOU dont mean its wrong. Good Luck in raiseing ur kids. I hope not putting cereal in ur kids bottle and not circumcising ur son will make them stand out in some special way just so everyone in the world will see how AWESOME of a parent u were and how YOU are NOT dumb.

NO....they are not irresponsible or dumb. Each person makes the best decision they can within their experience and situation.
I have two healthy formula fed children and one healthy nursed child. I had to work 50+ hours a week only 8 weeks after having c-sections with my first two. I couldn't see how I could nurse them. They are teens now...and fine. My third was different. I had more time off of work, she was my last and I wanted to try...frankly I hated nursing...it was like living in a wet swimsuit all the time!! I still have a shadow on my mammogram from an infection I suffered while nursing! UCK....glad I tried it...wouldn't do it again on a bet!
I never started solids until my doctor told me it was okay...and never in a bottle. And never having a boy, I can't answer that one but circumcision is a personal decision....
No one is the perfect parent. There isn't a manual or a training course and no one has the right to judge weather a person is responsible or not based on these issues... Don't you think you would be better off worrying about IF a child is fed.....not what as long as it is healthy and your doctor is okay with it.

1. Regretfully not all women can breastfeed due to certain circumstances with Bub. I agree with breastfeeding as Im 35wks pregnant and plan to do it myself, but my bestfriends baby was suffering from jaundice and would not breastfeed. The baby was given an intravenous drip at birth and was on it for 5 wks. The baby's mother got a breast infection due to the clogging of the milk ducts and then her milk dried up. So no, breastfeeding cant be done for every child, but i do advocate it.
2. Im definately with you on the solids subject. It has been proven that feeding a child cereals too early can result in malnutrition and stunting of growth. 4-6 months here in Australia is the recommended guideline to start it off.
3. I do believe circumcision is unnecessary. The cases of circumcision around the world has dropped by more than 50% because it has been proven that circumcision does not make any difference to a boy's cleanliness. Not many doctors here in Aussie Land practise this, but Rabbi's who have been specifically trained under the Judaism laws still do due to their beliefs. I dont believe in it, but as long as it isnt my son i dont have anything to worry about.
I dont believe though that the parents may be irresponsible tho. Different countries come with different guidelines concerning these subjects and if people are recommended to go by them they just will. Nothing is worse than being called "dumb" just because of a personal opinion.
Wouild you like me to call you that? I guess not.

My daughter was born 14 wks. early, I was on IV drips to keep me alive for 2 weeks. Should I have breastfed???
My daughter has a swallowing problem where the thin formula goes to her vocal cords instead of being swallowed. The cereal in her formula let's her eat and get the nutrition she needs. Should I take out the cereal???
(I don't have a son so I can't decide that for others.)
If not for my Irresponsible/dumb decisions, my baby girl would me dead!
So I guess I am an irresponsible/dumb parent. And Damn Proud of it!!!!

No, an irresponsible parent would not feed the child. This child is getting the best formula that is perfectly balanced. Not all mothers can breast feed.
No, adding cereal to a bottle is also the Parents decision. This is common believe it or not!
No, Circumcision has been done for ages! This is not being irresponsible. This has been debated for years whether it is good, or bad, but in the end its the parents choice.
Its obvious that you love this child and want only the best, however, the parents too, love this child and they are the ones making choices. Please give them some space and don't be so judgmental. If they ask for advice, give it. Enjoy the child, don't worry about their parenting style.

No. Nowadays some people think circumcision is something irresponsible. Circumcision keeps the penis clean and virtually free from the risk of urinary infections. Circumcised penises are naturally clean. Uncircumcised penises are difficult to wash, and sometimes stay dirty and smelly even if you wash daily.
It has been proved by studies done by prestigious research bodies that circumcision reduces the risk of contracting AIDS-HIV and other STD's up to 7 times. This is something very important and by itself it is enough to support circumcision. Have a look at this site: http://www.baby-health.net/articles/381.html
So if you want to consider the topic rationally, and take into account only serious and scientific evidence, you will probably conclude that circumcision is truly beneficial. It is a quick and nowadays painless procedure.
This article is also of interest, and is a MUST read:

First, not all mom's are able to breastfeed no matter how badly they may want to.
2ND: Some babies are underweight and need the cereal put in their bottle to add weight. (doctors advise this) or some children are born and milk just is not enough and need food introduced earlier than others. (again doctors will advise)
3rd: Religious practice dictates circumcision. It is not wrong to do or irresponsible. Also sometimes medically necessary.
Parents are not irresponsible for doing any of these. They are making the best decisions for their children. So I am sorry you have such a low opinion of parents decision making, But these are made out of love.

NO I breastfeed my first 2 children for 12 months then with next 2 children I tried for a month before giving up due to my children not putting on much weight. With my 5th child I decided that I would not try to breastfeed due to the fact that I couldn't with the other 2. It's people like you who make people who can't breastfeed feel really stressed about not being able to. When I was in hospital I broke down because I saw others able to breastfeed & I couldn't the nurses knew my situation and said I was doing the best thing for my child.
As for cearal in a bottle at 2 months theres nothing wrong with it my doctor told me to start introducing it to my children as early as early as 5 weeks. I spoon feed my first 2 children at 5 weeks by the time they were 4 months old they were eating cereal & pureed fruit that I made for them. I feed my children with home made food not the stuff you buy in jars at the shops as that is full of fillers that make your child full and put on all the weight and causes obesity in children. All my children are petite and are healthy and are nowhere near being over weight.
I personally would not circumcise my boy but that is the parents decision to make.
These are not dumb decisions people make they are the decisions they feel are right for their children you have no right to judge anyone.

There is a HUMONGOUS difference between being ignorant and being irresponsible. Many people make the choice to use formula, start solids early, and circumcise their sons due to flat out ignorance. HOWEVER... many women do not breastfeed because it is culturally unacceptable for them to do so. Many parents add solids to their baby's bottles because that is what their mothers have advised them to do. Many parents choose to circ their sons because of their own cultural or religious beliefs.
Are these people irresponsible? No...actually they are being very RESPONSIBLE... by making choices based on their own beliefs and values. Are they dumb? Heck no... far from it. Intelligence isn't something easily measured by the decisions we make... I know I've made quite a few dumb ones myself, but I've always been a rather intelligent person.
Your question on the other hand was very judgemental and harsh. Being judgemental is something that I always consider irresponsible and dumb... no offense meant to you, personally.

They are not irresponsible or dumb. Everyone makes personnel choices and it is none of anyones business. If that's what they want to do leave them alone you are not going home with them at the end of the day so why waste energy on it?
PS All 3 of my boys are circumcised!!!!
