I received a job offer from a Russian company, CIT Financial Bank, they got my resume from careerbuilder. How can I be sure this isn't a scam? Their website is citfinbank.com. They haven't asked for any suspicious information, yet. I have checked on all the scam sites and they are not listed anywhere. When I search for Russian companies, they are not on that list either. I need some direction. Thanks

Unfortunately, I think I just received the same kind of job offer from them that you did. At first I was like, "Is the Russian mafia trying to hire me?"

It is odd that the website isn't ".ru," and simultaneously that it doesn't have (or I couldn't find) any way to translate it into, you know, its own mother tongue.

It's also fishy that they're talking about how you can make between 1-2 grand a month, "for just an hour's work." I mean, that's just a wee bit too generous for a bank.

And there was the fact that they said I was the only candidate for the position in the whole USA. I guess they meant you and me (and everyone else on Career Builder...seriously, I'm tired of these fake job offers.)

So I guess if it looks like a scam, smells like a scam, and tastes like a scam, it's most likely a completely legit employment opportunity that you should waste no time in applying for.

Good luck,

Well, what is the job doing? If it involves transferring money through Western Union or Money Gram, run! Its a scam to steal money.
I find it odd that their website is .com instead of the common Russian suffix of .ru
