If you go with Dooney and burke make sure it's not one of the younger styles that have the D and B's all over them with hearts and stars, because all you do is see middle school and elementary kids wearing them. Dooney does make some nice leather ones and other ones that are less teenageish.

Here's the deal: D & B's are expensive, unless you buy a teeny one. They also have a tendency to be heavy.
I adore Vera Bradley, which mom could use all year.
These bags are washable (I have mine dry cleaned) and a whole lot cheaper than D & B.
If you go with Vera Bradley, you'll probably be able to buy some of the accessories that go with it.
You are a sweet daughter. Your mom is a lucky woman.

for me dooney and burke is cuter but if she is an older woman a vera bradley would prolly have more class

alot of women really like the Vera Bradley Java Blue Purse...it's chocolate colored with aqua blue accents

Well it would depend on how she would use it. I would suggest a Vera Bradley tote. I got one for my mom so she could take it to work. I got it in her favorite color.
