I don't know about you, but I feel like Thanksgiving gets ignored in the rush to get out the Christmas decorations. Not only in businesses, but in house decorations.

Why do people put them out prior to Thanksgiving instead of wating until after Thanksgiving. I know it's people's choices, but why can't people wait until after Thanksgiving?

I agree. You know, it used to be that everything, was special, especially Christmas. Now a days, you see Easter trees and Foth of July lights, I dotn know what to think.

It makes Christmas less special if you do it too early, and before Thanksgiving is way to early. I think one should deffinatly wait till December. My family usually has ours out late in december, but we get into the spirt as soon as December 1st comes!

Even though Christmas is fun and magical, if you dont wait and you treat the whole winter season like Christmas, it loses its charm.

As for stores, I think it takes away from the charm, but they have to do it. it is a business and they have to sell the stuff, because they know for the season, they have to stock early.

I don't know. When I was growing up...many moons ago...Christmas decorations in the stores were never put up until the day after Thanksgiving. that was the official start of the Holiday season. The local stores where I live had Christmas decorations up the middle of October.
None of the stores displayed any Thanksgiving decorations at all.

No, I put them up after thanksgiving Its CRAZY there is already christmas music on some radio stations! It's Nov. 15! Once we get through Thanksgiving then it's more reasonable to play Christmas Music

Considering the fact that Thanksgiving and Christmas are so close together and so closely tied in together. I mean, a lot of people do their christmas shopping during the Thanksgiving weekend.

And to be honest with you, if you're going to decorate your house for the holiday season, wouldn't you rather have the pleasant looking decorations of bright red and green instead of the dull brown and orange that is associated with Thanksgiving.

And probably the biggest reason is that most Americans are pretty lazy and I know decorating my own house just once a year is pretty time consuming, so doing it twice in one months span is pretty much doing the impossible for myself.

Because there are people who are willing to buy before Thanksgiving.
More importantly, there are people who will LOOK before Thanksgiving, and that translates into them ending up wanting/buying more holiday stuff than they might have if it had been out of sight.
Out of sight out of mind!

But there are also people like me who don't mind seeing it early, I think it's beautiful

Maybe because they're bean counters and December is a very busy month for them.
