WCW did put up a fight, in fact they nearly put WWF/WWE out of business. At the time they were beating WWF/WWE in an astronomical way in the Nielsen ratings (scale used to determine how many people are watching a program). If it wasn't for horrible writing of the story lines and a bevy of recycled WWF/WWE superstars, WWE could have possibly been non-existent today.

The concept was great at first. The problem was the angle was never going to last forever, but he never used to put anybody over to carry the company post NWO. Some got a nice rub, but they never got a chance to go to the top. The only talent Bischoff can say he actually created and put over is Goldberg. That was a waste because Goldberg let it go to his head. In the end there was no forward thinking and the company started living day to day. It eventually caught up to them and they folded.

I think WCW could of put a fight with the WWE fan base wise, but WWE had the financial backing, so they just bought WCW

Those were not the golden days of wrestling they were the primetime days of wresting, you missed one show you got it from another, and if you didn't something you could go to the other one and see something else... damn how I miss having WCW, I thought I never say that again....

very competitive with wwf. the nwo storyline is by far the best idea ever in wrestling, they just didnt know when to let it die and it cost them in the long run. they did rely to heavily on old talent and never groomed their new guys, with the exception of goldberg.
