You can try http://www.caretotrade.com. It's a free trading site. While it has many ads in the US, it also has about 50 ads internationally. Since its free it can't hurt to try it & try to get it going bigger in the UK.

There is an international web site that sells by auctions. Very similar to E-bay. Its origins were from the U.K.
They may allow for swapping. Give it a try.

www.freecycle.org is the swapping equivalent of E-bay
www.readitswapit.co.uk for swapping books
www.swapaskill.com or www.bartercard.com are to do with swapping trade or services
