take the circumference of the earth and divide it by cake.... I mean pie.
or, assuming the earth is round and not flat like I know it is, the distance through from the north and south pole, directly through the crust and core. so, what you need to do, is go to Home Depot and get a really good drill and a heavy jacket. go to the north pole, and they are pretty busy up there so watch out for traffic this time of year, and enter Santa's bedroom. when you get there take your drill and a bunch of extra bits and start drilling. it is advisable to have a friend on the other end to let you know when you come out of the south pole. and hey, try to drill straight. last time I tried this I went through 2 battery packs a new charger and the bit came out in Iraq. I was able to establish an oil pipeline and spend my time answering questions on yahoo all day though.
good luck.
