ok this one film she was in, she plays a lady up for conviction of murder, and it comes out that her dad kept her medicated growing up... he abused her... and when she grew up she became a prostitute...

The only redheaded singer I can think of is Barbra Streisand. She is married to James Brolin who played a doctor on Marcus Welby M,D. That was many moons ago.

I am thinking of all the red headed actresses and the only one I can think of is Carol Burnett. She was popular as Jamie's mother (the third and last actress to play her) on "Mad About You". I think that is who you are thinking about. And, she is in her mid to late 60's now.
