How does a laptop touch pad work and how come they only sense your finger? I tried using something soft over the touch pad and the mouse didn't move, I also tried metal things too. I'm confused :(

There are fine wires behind the cover screen that sense static electricity from your body, works even better on hot dry days... cool idea....

A touchpad does not use wireless signals, so it cannot interfere with other devices and other wireless devices cannot interfere with a touchpad. Therefore if the touchpad on one of your laptops is not working, it will not have any influence on the other laptop. More likely the touchpad is damaged, you have loaded the wrong drivers, you are infected with a virus or you have installed software which messes up your touchpad.

did u know that most every pad now reacts to heat from a person, some programs tell u how hot your finger is.

touch pads sence heat, my track pad can be moved by anything metal, plastic, wood ect.
