I always liked him the best (I thought he was the most different to the others, and the cutest).
Will he ever come back, as I've seen his profile on the American Sega website?

In the UK, he was in Sonic Triple Trouble as a non-playable character, Sonic Drift II and Sonic Fighters as a playable character. He's still unpopular though

Because the profiles on the American site hasn't been updated in over 3 years?
Because he's never been in any "main" Sonic games?
Because Silver and Shadow are the more famouse?

This brings back memories. I always liked Sonic because he could always become Super Sonic in Sonic 2. The Sonic side scroller series was the best even today. If they re did the games and made it kind of like how they did Viewtiful Joe I think the fans would return. I played Sonic Heros on the Xbox a couple years back and was disappointed because Sonic lost his speed. As for the old cartoon series I liked Miles(tails) because he was a good side kick. In SonicX I liked Knuckles because of his badassery.

he was in only one sonic game (and is only in america due to Sonic Gems Collection) so it's no wonder he's not that popular
