When did this happen? If it happened days ago, as it seems in your question, I'm afraid that the ring will most likely be gone - plumbing and all. Still, I think that you should talk to the management of the restaurant and just explain how p-o'd you were that when you offered to pay for any expenses to get your wife's ring back the owner refused to cooperate, without so much as a second thought. There's not too much that you can 'fight' as it unfortunately her loss of the ring... but you might be able to get some sort of satisfaction by talking to management about the upset that your wife is going through. I would suggest that you even do your own vow renewal thing... and just exchange plain gold bands in the interim... it will show your wife that you know it was an accident, that she didn't mean to lose the ring (which any woman I know wouldn't do!) and it WOULD be adorable. (Plus, to be slightly tacky in an honest response - you'll most likely get lucky that night!) I wouldn't do it on Christmas... that's an insane time of year with the visits and food and all. Maybe on New Year's Day... starting the year over with new rings... that's an idea! Good luck and let us know what happens!

You should contact the restaurant again and speak to another manager. The General manager. I cant see why he/she would be so unreasonable. Offer to have the plumber come out in the hours when the business is closed. Make sure you are with the plumber and watch him, I trust no-one! hehe This shouldn't be a problem. Good Luck!

She's obviously upset because it meant something to her. Even if you fought the restaraunt owner it may be flushed already. Really think about a special experience you shared together or something that is important to her. Don't use Christmas, make it another unique experience, like the day you proposed. Then it will be just as important to her and let her know she's important to you, too.

i would complain to the owner of the place, headquarters if its a chain because you did offer to pay for the plumber and such..i somehow just lost the diamond out of my engagement ring, have no idea how or when...my husband has said he will replace the stine, bye me a new one etc but it won't be the same....what someone recommended to me was to have a vow renewal with the new ring and that might help me accept the new one

make a complaint against the restaurant since they didnt work with you when you offered to pay and buy her a plain band, then make her wait for an upgraded band at a later date, like new years, her birthday or really soon if she is crushed over it.

Contact your homeowners' insurance, it may have been covered. The resturant's drains are their property, if they wont cooperate then you are out of luck. Maybe best to get a new one and insure it.
