Just sign up for a new account (Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, etc...)

You will continue to receive messages at your existing email address but you can start to use your new address right away.

You can also set an auto-reply message on your old account letting senders know what your new email is. Or you can also set your old account to automatically forward your email to your new address.
