-47+(-16) is the same as -47 - 16, which equals -63.
When you subtract from a negative number, you are takeing more away from the negative, which will make it more negative.

If you have a negative number and you add some more negative to it, then it gets even more negative...

So -47 and -16 = -63

adding negative problems is just like adding normal ones. imagine that there is no negative sign (47+16) and add them together. when youre done, just put a negative sign at the front again, so 63 becomes -63

adding a negative number is the same as subtraction,

-47 + (-16)

let's make it clearer and start with zero so

0 - 47 - 16

zero, minus 47 minus 16

is -63

-63 is the answer. You start with -47 and then you take a further 16 from it. Think of a temperature scale.

Multiplacation and divistion is different, of course, but yea, that's how it works for subtraction.

(5 * .35) + (x * .27) = 3.37 -- Setup the equation, 5 is the kind of apples, .35 is the fee for each, x is the kind of bananas, .27 is the fee of them, and 3.37 is the full. a million.seventy 5 + (x * .27) = 3.37 -- This step you basically multiply out the 5 * .37 x* .27 = a million.sixty two (3.37- a million.sixty two) -- Now you subtract a million.seventy 5 from the two factors. x = 6 (a million.sixty two/.27) --then you definately dive a million.sixty two by .27 and you get the respond 6. So the respond is 6 bananas.

the way that you would do taht problem would add them like they are both positive numers so them the sum of the numbers would be 63 and since they are negative you would put a negative sign (-) in front of it making it -63.
