Well, honestly, before coming to Iraq,I would have said yes, they're all terrorists.

I am very glad I came to Iraq. It's opened my eyes to a race of people I hadn't experienced much if any.I have found Iraqis and other Arabs to be some of the nicest, helpful, hospitable people I've known.I wouldn't trade my time here for anything.I think I'd like to travel to a safer Arab country to experience more though.I hope Iraq will calm down and stabilize so people can return and experience what Iraq has to offer.A very rich history.I am in the process of learning Arabic.I love Arabic. It's a beautiful written language. So artful.

Arabian girls? What can I say.....I like the stereo typical Arabian girl....Long flowing black hair, eyes shaped like almonds......Oh man...My soul gets firery just thinking of them. How could ANYONE hate them????They have the most seductive eyes in the freakin world. How could anyone not get lost in them?

Honestly,I would consider my self lucky if I found a girl who's even has a fraction of Arab blood.

People who think they are all terrorist have not been to Arab countries.I can't say I really blame them, because I was one of them. But as for me,I know otherwise.

I also like that even some Christian Arab women cover their hair. It's like saying,"This is for my man,and him only!"Who couldn't love that kind of loyalty and devotion. They seem to be mostly traditional minded. That's more than I can say for a lot of American women.

In fact,if I was talking to you and found out you were Arabian, you'd probably get tiered of seeing me.

I wish one day I can have an Arabian woman for my own,but it'll never happen.But it's nice to think about..(-;

You mean Arabs in general? Then generally speaking, I don't have much of a problem with them. Then again, I don't think I've met that many Arabs, if ever.

Dang! I wonder what the chances of that are! Blond hair, fair skinned, and either green, hazel, or brown eyes (well, the last one seems more plausible, but the other two...)
"any slight racism? when u find out some one is arab what do you think?"
For the first question, if it weren't for terrorists I wouldn't have much racism against them. But as you might be able to imagine, the images of Arab terrorists have tainted my view of them. As to your second question, if I know them well enough (or if my friends do) I shouldn't have a problem, though if you just outright said that you were Arab, I'm not so sure...

My boyfriend's Arab/Muslim and I have a few friends who are Arab/Muslim .. so, there's no way I could hate Arabs. Finding out that they were Arab/Muslim didn't affect the way I thought of them.. they're pretty cool people and as far as I'm concerned, that's all that matters. I'm not going to condemn an entire ethnic group based on the actions of a few.

I don't believe the stereotype, either.. I took a course that focused on the Middle East, so I know Arabs vary in looks.. including my friends and bf.

I'm a bit afraid of MUSLIMS, not necessarily ARABS. I'm afraid of the utter devotion and since I know NOTHING about the religion, hearing things like insulting Mohammed is justification for death makes me nervous.

I like to ask questions about religion and sometimes they are offensive (not intentionally, but questioning can be seen as insulting) and I wonder if some Muslim hasn't thought me worthy of death for my thinking.

I know some Arabs (not Muslim) and they vary in shades. Some are dark and hairy and scary. Some are light and look positively white.

Do you think you are a better Arab because you are light skinned with blond hair? Is there colour-ism in the Arab race.

I don't care if all Arabs were dark with thick hair...there's nothing wrong with it.

BUT people do hate y'all. My dad looks Arab (just like one of the dark Hairy ones) and after 9/11 his life is on permanent SUCK when strangers meet him (he's black, white, and Native American).

I think that some (a lot) of Americans tend to generalize a characteristic of a person into one racial category.... if they are wearing a turban, then they must be Arab, so they are a terrorist. Just like most Americans think that black people are all ghetto or criminals, or all Hispanics are illegal, they generalize. That's the American way!

I'm mixed and poeple really can't tellwhat I "am"..... so I don't generalize. It's hypocritical. but, a lot of Americans are hypocrites, too. Another generalization.

I don't judge. I'm dark, I think as long as you're human, you have just the same fair shot of losing my respect as the next person.

I've been to Israel and have met both Arab and Jew. The Arabs I met were extremely hospitable, polite, respectful and friendly. I realize there are issues between the Jews and Arabs but, for the most part, I found the Arabs and Jews didn't attempt to force their thoughts on this matter or their beliefs on me, and for that alone I greatly respect them. Some of the kindest people I met in Israel were Arabs. I find their culture very interesting and their foods quite exquisite, even if I do disagree with the beliefs of Islam. I respected them as they respected me. I was equally interested in their history, which is rich and ancient.

Arabs as a country? Of course not. Are you asking about Arabs or Muslims? Because I have nothing against Muslims either. It's a religious concept I could never submit to, but I still have respect for the people who do.

The people I dislike - and that's to put it lightly, "loathe" is a far more appropriate word - are the minority of Muslims, and not just Muslims - any religion or racist group - who believe that everyone must think the same as them or they deserve to die. That goes for Muslims who kill themselves just to spite the people who think differently, all the way to racist groups who think black people are inferior.

Having never met anyone Arabic, I have nothing to hate Arabs for. I'm sure there are some Arabs I will dislike. But there are some people from my own country I hate as well.

And, no, I'm not stereotypical - and someone who goes off you as soon as you say you're Arabic is pathetic and sad. I get the same thing being gay.

And I would like to add, in response to the nice lady below me, that I'm sure you are wonderfully representative of the "small town Texas" perspective on life.

Did it not occur to you that you might be supporting a terrorist organisation by shopping in a store owned by a white person?

And did you vote for George Bush?

I don't care one way or another, honestly. I think it's wrong to hate Arabs because of 9/11. That said, I don't really care for the way some people over there treat their women. Of course, I could say the same for some guys over here too.

All cultures and races should be respected.I love learning about different cultures and people and racism is the lowest quality a person can have.. I don't think there should be a question about how a certain races' people are, because its the person that matters, not their ethnicity.
