i am sorry but I don't like ira or hueston for a name. Ira sounds like something negative and hueston just sounds old . Mc Namara is a good name though. my mothers maiden name.

lots of people seem to think its for a girl, i always thought Ira was a boys name, i like it, but whith the whole belfast thing it might not be great. how about isaac? similar sounding and also old jewish.
my favourites James, not very original i know but it was my dear grandfathers name.

the surname Mc Namara is great but I dont like the name Ira,
Ira have many meanings in other languages
in spanish is : fury,
in Ireland is an acronym I.R.A
but anyway, the decision is yours

No, it's a very old fashioned name to give to a child these days.

By the way, love your lastname. It'll sound good with a lot of names.

Ira sounds like an old woman's name. Can't imagine calling an infant baby girl that, unless you nickname her Irie.

I agree with BabyGirl though, I like Ava or Eva.

Ya I like it. Short unuasal I like it a lot. And the added bonus is that it goes well with the surname.
