It seemed his career was over after the final Seinfeld episode with all of them locked behind bars. He's tried other TV series but all of them flopped because Richards has been typecast as Cosmo Kramer. In TV land, it's really tough to break out of a character that one has been doing for years. Somehow, I think he made those racial remarks on purpose as a form of self destruction since his career crashed.

oh, yes, what ever career he thought he had is now over! I mean, he was part of a comedy team with Jason, Julia and Jerry. Jason is doing commercials, Julia is on her second season of her hit show, and Jerry makes special guest appearences from time to time. But michael really showed his true colors that night. And, to hear the audience members gasp is shock and some of them walking out, leaving, it is no wonder why the laugh In banned him from the stage. I mean, to say to two black guys that were heckling you that".......50 years ago, you would have been hunged upside down with a fork up your a'ss" and then called them "N's" over and over again, oh yes, it is over. (And, Paul Rodriguez, who was there that night, said that the men did not heckle Richards.)
his career, he can kiss that baby goodbye!

It's over and down the drain. Once you let certain words fly out of your mouth people brand you for life, and you can't do anything about it.

what little of a career he had, yes. Don't think the letterman apology is going to help much either.

Damn right it's over. His little apology didn't do anything, and he's not even funny.
