Are you just happy to see that Jeter didn't win it, or are you more concerned that Ortiz didn't win?

As a Red Sox fan I thought that Ortiz landed right where he belonged. I understand the writers still have bias toward the power numbers, but I felt that Jeter should have been the MVP. I feel that Jeter had the best year out of all AL players. I thought the person that got the most screwed was Mourneau's teammate, Joe Mauer. I thought he should have come in 2nd, Papi 3rd and Mourneau 4th.

I am very happy. IMO, there were many more deserving. Not mentioning Papi there. I think both are overrated (though Papi not as much as Jeter because of his clutch numbers) because they play for The Sox and the Yanks.

I am not so concerned that Ortiz didn't win, because anyone who understands baseball realized that Ortiz didn't have a shot many months ago. He is a DH for 3rd place team. An amazing hitter, maybe if he played first base he would.

Pedroia carried the crimson Sox alot this year and had no help from the likes of Varitek, Papi, Manny (jointly as he became there) many of the season. And lowell became harm. Jeter had a lot of help each year he had a guess to win the MVP and thats why he would not get the award. I understand Jeter post similiar numbers yet look on the runs each and each group scored that year and look at how plenty help Jeter have been given those years. working example, Papi wuld be extra useful off on holiday then what he did this postseason.

I was extremely happy to find out that Jeter didn't win. I was hoping that Ortiz would win, but I knew he wouldn't so it wasn't much of a surprise he came in third. He'll win it one of these seasons.

I think Jeter earned and should have received the MVP award, and I am a Red Sox fan. However, I also recognize great talent, and Jeter is just the best at what he does: plays shortstop, hits and, above all leads!!

Chow!!

I don't care about Jeter, Big Papi should have won the past 2 years. What kind of stats will it take to earn him an MVP? Of course Ortiz does have more WS rings then Arod.....haha

im not a sox fan, nor yanks, nor twins but i dont think jeter deserved to be #2. i agree with morneau cuz with his bat, the twins won the division. remember the tigers had something of a 15 game lead. papi shouldve won it last year, and it was morneaus year this year. unless ortiz hits 60 homers and 150 RBI and the next closest is 40 and 110, he wont win cuz hes only a DH. i dont agree with that arguement but thats how the writers view it.

yeah but im still pissed that david came in 3rd. I mean everybody was exspecting jeter and ortiz to win it. And morneau gets it he didnt deserve it as much as ortiz and jeter.
