I almost signed papers to attend this college and get financial aid when I stumbled upon this website through yahoo answeres!
NEVER GO TO UNIV. OF PHEONIX ONLINE!

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff195474.htm

Please can anyone tell me of a good school to go online, that is not fradulent and is accepted everywhere, has the proper accredidation? I work full-time and stopped going to school in campus, it's the only way i can pay all my bills. I was working with a rep. from this online school when for about two weeks and almost signed up for classes and found this website about them!
I have nearly 50 college credits.
What do I do?
Thanks

to the first poster...I'm sorry I did not spell Phoenix correctly. Secondly, I don't understand the part of your comment, which you tell me to get a lawyer. I just found that website that lists a bunch of student's experiences with that school. You should visit it, they are no good. So perhaps you need to read my posting more carefully before you start typing.

When looking for an online school, be sure to check to see if the school is regionally accredited if you intend to continue your education. If you don't intend to go on to graduate school than nationally accredited will suffice.

Phoenix is accredited, and if there are a lot of legitimate complaints, it will be investigated. The only complaint I have heard about this school is that it is expensive, but so are a lot of other schools.

Have you checked out Davenport University? Their website is www.davenport.edu. I'm a senior working towards my Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management degree. The school is fully accredited. Here is their website with their accredidations: http://www.davenport.edu/tabid/155/default.aspx

The school offers both in-seat and online classes. However, unlike UofP, you pick which classes you want to take each semester that fulfill your degree requirements. It will be very much like a traditional university in that you have certain classes to take to get your degree, but the order you pick them is up to you. Prior to each semester, you pick the classes you want. Most classes are 3 semester hours each. And for the online classes (except the 4 credit hour accounting classes), the classes run 7 weeks long. They use Blackboard technology for their classes. I typically take 4 classes a semester: 2 classes during the first 7 week session and two classes during the final 7 week session. That allows me to maintain full time status for financial aid purposes.

Some instructors are better than others, and you want to work closely with your advisor. Most likely if you contact the school, you will talk with an advisor who is located at the Lettinga Campus in Grand Rapids Michigan (which is their main campus). I'm taking two classes right now with one in-seat and one online. I prefer the in-seat because you get more one on one with the advisors.

The biggest drawback to our online classes are that a lot of the items are self-taught, but I learn a lot from the discussion boards each week. We have to check in to our class five times per week and the teacher will post questions about our chapters and we will post reponses and are required to make comment on them. But I learn a lot from reading my classmates' posts. We also have several projects and papers in each class. Ugh! I do hate the group projects as you have to rely on the weakest link in the project, and if someone in your group is only trying to pass the class and you're trying to get an "A"...one of you will not be happy. Other than those drawbacks, I really have felt I'm getting a pretty good education there.

For the business degrees, our school does have a student chapter with SHRM, which is the Society of Human Resource Management, and they are also offering a Certified Manager Preparation Course. They also are associated with several other nationally-ranked student chapters.

I don't know what degree you are looking for, but I'd recommend checking out Davenport!

Good luck to you!

Try this website:

Some universities offer online degrees. The university I work at offers 3 online degrees: Criminal Justice, General Studies and Business Management. You can get the degree totally online and never step foot on campus.

Look around and find out from the Registrar's Offices at the schools you are interested in, what the best online courses are. Talk to a transfer counselor and ask them what classes will transfer in from online schools.

Good Luck.

Contact Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. They are accredited by the Central Association of Schools and Colleges, the official agency recognized by the US Department of Education. I have my Ph.D. from Walden, and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It is a distance learning program, and they now have on-line courses. Enquire and find out for yourself. 1-800-444-6734 (Minneapolis) or 1-800-237-6434 Florida location). Good luck!!

A lot of regular universities have on-line classes, and degrees you can get on-line. Like the University of Maryland and the State University of New York. I think also the University of Texas. They are also really cheap, so it's far more affordable.

Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada is a well-recognized university, specializing in all kinds of distance learning. Athabasca was offering degrees through distance learning more than 30 years ago. I don't know if it would meet your needs. Here is their website.

Univ of Phoenix - on line happens to be one of the most CREDITED on-line schools in the U.S.

Perhaps you need a lawyer, if you feel you get somehow misled.

You also may need a dictionary.
It's "Phoenix" not "Pheonix"

wow good thing you found that site before enrolling!

since online colleges are pretty risky, maybe try attending classes in person?
