Using visualizations in which dozens of time a day you create a motion picture in your mind which shows you achieving the goal you have chosen for yourself, coupled with an emotionally stated positive affirmation,is one of the best ways to change personal behavior.Visualizations will not work alone however. They merely reinforce and strengthen the impact of the much more important positive affirmation or brief statement of your goal. The secret to success,as is true in most efforts, is repetition,at least several dozen times a day. This technique works because in time our subconscious mind accepts what it is being told and also shown in picture form, which is its primary language,as a command to carry out which it then proceeds to do,usually in creative ways.

Yes creative visualisation is a strong powerful tool as it accesses deeper levels of the subconscious in order to achieve defined results. Unfortunately, in these days of 'instant gratification', people don't want to know about anything that takes any amount of time to achieve no matter how small.

I run marathons. I always viualise myself running really fast and being first over the finishing line. It never works, but I'm sure it helps me to run faster.
