Ask!

Without knowing where you are from, there is no way for me to provide a list!

So just call & ask, they will tell you!

Go to a vet, most vets know about a shelter or two, maybe they even know what shelters kill. i think all shelters do kill, some more than others, some shelters kill if the animal is presant there more than a certian amount of months. Other shelters only kill animals that they know people won't adopt becaue of reasons like: the animal is not friendly or safe or a family to adopt.

You can't have a no kill shelter because sometimes animals come in too sick to be helped and need to be put to sleep so that they don't suffer anymore. If you don't believe in it you should go work there and see what its really like. There would never be enough room for all the animals, there isn't enough people to adopt them.

No shelter that I know of is completely no kill. Some are very low kill, but sometimes a dog or cat has medical or behavioral issues that make it most humane to euthanize them.

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah is one that I'd highly recommend.

Beware of those who say they are non kill. Our shelter is non kill, but the animal control across the street from them is not. So you can guess what they were caught doing. Yep. They took their overflow across the street for animal control to kill them. You have to ask lots of questions of places you wish to donate to. Good luck.

No kill shelters do not euthinize the animals(most of them anyways) they take in, but will refuse to take in animals that they deem unadoptable. Other shelters take in EVERY animal! I don't know about you, but I choose to support the shelters that atleast try to make an effort to save lives and not support the non-kill since they don;'t do the "dirty" work themselves they leave it up to the other shelters to do it for them.

It varies from shelter to shelter. The SPCA in the county next to ours doesn't euthanize. The SPCA in our county does. You more or less have to call them and ask whether they do or don't. There may be some groups not associately with the ASPCA or Humane Society in your area. Ask around. Vets' offices should know what is around.

Knowing which area you live in would make things simpler on where to direct you.
