When we were young we always had to set at the kiddie table too, I made myself a promise back then that my children would never have to do that. And they didn't. And today even though our family is getting bigger and bigger our grand children always set at the table with everyone else.

hmm...we don't have a children's table..we all sit at one table. Its not like the adults talk over inappropriate things. And the kids keep each other entertained. Its easier then going back and fourth cutting up meat and refilling plates and cups. I've sat at a kids table though for other events, not because we had to but because we chose we'd rather eat with our peers then with our boring parents and relatives we've never met. It was more of a choice thing. The adults were always a burden.

We are completely overhauling the whole thing this year... Thanksgiving brunch and parade watching party with finger foods exclusively. There will be no tables at all (at least not for sitting at) and children and adults alike will be mingling by the windows.
My parents generation always had the kiddy table, and I always boycotted it (being the oldest of the children by several years). My feeling was that if there were going to be that many adults in the house at once, I wasn't going to be the one stuck babysitting!

I hated it too. There will be no children's table and if there was, no adult would sit there.... 'cause I'm not married anymore. hehehe
Why not just seat everyone around two tables and intermix the children. That way, adults are there to help them with food when needed and they can be a part of the celebration. I think that's what I would do today if there were children around.
Best Wishes,
Sue

we don't watch soccer. frequently the television is going off after the parade... And would not bypass on back till after dinner/freshen up, around 5 or 6 pm, whilst we positioned on musicals and sit down good right down to play enjoying cards. I recommend, persons do not could desire to chat... in many circumstances we bypass swimming, or bypass exterior & sit down on the porch & communicate, and a few human beings play frisbee or some variety of ball interest on the backyard or something with the youngsters. And in many circumstances board video games get dragged out.

We have no children's table--all of us around one table. I do recall as a child tho---being tucked in a corner with my cousins at a card table. When I became the Mom in charge the "children's table" was banned!!!

Well, since I am celebrating at my Dads house this year, I don't know if there will be a kids table. But if there is one, I know I BELONG at it. I would consider myself lucky to get to sit with my kids at the kids table.

My family is so small that we don't have a kids table. In fact, I'm the youngest and I'm 24.

No, I always disliked having to eat with the adults as they were no fun and usually drank too much
