Libs ostensibly find fault with every aspect of life in America, yet they do not leave. Unlike many of the nations libs do not criticize (Cuba, North Korea, Iran) the United States does not prevent our citizens from leaving for any reason. Yet liberals refuse to leave, preferring instead to remain and find fault with nearly every aspect of life in America. Why do libs stay, if life here is so horrible for them?

That's the great thing about America. If you're not happy with the way things are, you try to change it.

I wasn't aware that people were expected to leave if they weren't happy with the way things were at the moment. Wouldn't that be cut and running?

On a side note, why don't the Conservatives leave if they're so unhappy with the gays, abortion, etc? My guess would be it's the same reason - they hope to change it.

The Founding Fathers of this nation found fault in the country... that's why they fought a Revolution... to CHANGE what was going on here, to form the United States of America! They did not leave, as you would suggest. They exposed what was wrong and fought to change, to CORRECT the wrong!

So, you think it is unpatriotic to find fault... would you rather hide the truth? And if so, do you REALLY think it would make you more "American"? You need to go back to school and learn more about history and civics! Best wishes to you ANYWAY!

Why does a canines lick oh by no ability strategies you get the factor. this is a great place to be is it no longer. I disagree with those Libs yet i do no longer blame them for staying right here to ***** yet another day. If the ordinary public of the rustic became liberal we would all leave or serve some dictator inspite of the undeniable fact that this is sweet to have the youngster like perspectives extra to our way of existence. i admire the Libs total naive outlook on existence.

We don't actually, I like that the country is generally moderate and accepting of different people. I like that there is a history of openness and transarency in government. I think the judicial system is excellent and the envy of the world. I like that there is clear, voluntary, condemnation of racism when it rears it ugly head. I like that our elderly are somewhat cared for. I like that we have broad freedoms and rights.

What I don't like is when right-wing extremists come into power and try to make the government less transparent, take away our first and fourth amendment rights and freedoms, allow for-profit corporations to write our laws, and lavish unbelievable rewards on those who are already wealthy and powerful while cutting benefits for those who are weak and helpless.

Your "love it or leave it" mentality is antiquated. We liberals live by "love it or change it to make it better."

What a shame you do not know American History. Women and Black's did not like the fact they could not vote, so they protested mightily and got it changed. Many did not approve of children working in coal mines and sweat shops, so they protested and got it stopped. Many did not like adults having to work six 12 hour days, they protested and got it changed. This list goes on forever, and it shows the greatness of our Constitution, in that it allows the interests and common sense of a different point of view to express itself, be heard, and become law. To accomplish this, it is necessary to criticize the way things are in public debate so that a different view might be considered. In countries not as vital and successful as ours, such criticism is not allowed, the countries stagnate and lose their vitality, and then either collapse or are very non competitive. This is a messy process often, but it is what makes us so strong and the envy of the world.

I don't think it's liberals who have lost the sense of what it is to truly be an American. Dissatisfaction goes back to beginning of this country. Why do you think this country was founded? You think, I'm unpatriotic because I'm unhappy with mediocrity and being lied too? Are you saying I don't deserve to live in America because I won't mindlessly and blindly go along with the crowd. I'm unpatriotic because I ask questions? Perhaps conservatives have forgotten what it is to be American. Maybe they're the ones that should leave, after all, us liberals are "ruining" this country. You'd think we were leppers with small pox, "Run for your life! The LIBERALS ARE COMING!"

"No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots." - Barbara Erhenreich

"It is the duty of the patriot to protect their country from their government." - Thomas Paine

I don't find fault with every aspect of life in America. I love this country and what it stands for. It is my home. That's why I criticize what I find to be inconsistent with American values, because I want to make this country as best as it can be.

There's nothing wrong with constructive criticism. And what's more American than criticizing the government?

You can love your country like a 2 year old loves Mommy "Whatever Mommy does is good and if someone says something bad about Mommy they are bad"

Or You can have a mature adult love for your country like you love your children. You want them to grow up right and do the right things, if they do something stupid you try and guide them and constructivley critisize what they are doing wrong
You want to see our your chil or your country do the right thing even tho it might not be the popular or easy thing to do
Thats Why because we love our country

apathy kills nations... conservatives think that if you do everything the same way... things will turn out the same way in the end every time...

but this is a global marketplace we are in now... the same tired old ways don't work anymore and we need to work on new ways...

we can either point out problems and all work on fixing them...

or just pretend like they don't exist and let things just get worse and worse?

I think we see where conservatives stand on this issue... they just want everyone who sees a problem to shut up or leave...

I'm sure that will make America stronger... right?

Vince Lombardi used to say that he aimed for perfection, well knowing that he would probably never achieve it... but if he got closer than anyone else... then you would always come out on top...
