vin number?

i need the vin number to my 96 chevy silverado and i don't have the manual. is this the same as the identification number?if not where is it located? thanks

it should be on the top of your dash board on the left near the windshield... its on a little piece of metal. good luck.

It is located where they said above but it is also located on a metal plate on the inside of the drivers door. It is 17 characters long and contains letters and numbers

yes it is the same, Vehicle Identification Number is under the front windshield around where the wipers are connected to the car, not in the owners manual

PIN is short for inner maximum id variety and VIN is short for motor vehicle id variety...we are saying PIN and VIN because of the fact it particularly is short for what they recommend and ppl be conscious of what they stand for

the vin # is the number on the dash underneath the windshield.

the Vin number is the id no for it and its the one there on the drivers side below the wind shield ,,you can read it from out side the vehicle,,good luck i hope this help,s .

You got the title or registration cause without leaving the house you can read it off either one
