UPON A PENDULUM SUN

beneath the grime a child lays scared
uncapable of leaving but is he prepared
to disappear under the sands of this time
for here on its surface he mimicks a mime
wrapped up in experience his pupils dialate
and the destroy the innocence of his previous state
now he remembers and tears at his skin
trying to find the memories buried within
a moment never stays it's always the next
this eventual existence soaked deep with regrets
the past is a symptom of his unbridled fear
his future is close though he never feels near

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And no its not about drugs.
That's really cool..Just add proper punctuation and it'll be great!
What it means to me..
Well, a pendulum would swing back and forth, and a sun is hot and firey and dangerous..there's the symbolism in the title.
"beneath the grime a child lays scared
uncapable of leaving but is he prepared"
he cannot escape these thoughts, so is he prepared to deal with them if they come into reality?
"for here on the surface he mimicks a mime"
he copies others, and lives in his own little world away from reality..
"wrapped up in experience his pupils dialite
and they destroy the innocence of his previous state"
Things in his past, evidently bad experiences, come back into his mind just when he was feeling, good, or "innocent" again..
"now he remembers and tears at his skin
trying to find the memories buried within"
he continuously races through the memories...and cannot excape them...he is trying to find peace
"a moment never stays it's always the next
this eventual existence soaked deep with regrets"
he cannot live with his past...
"the past is a symptom of his unbridled fear
his future is close though he never feels near"
his fears are obvious and imminent..
WHAT IT MEANS TO ME:
A man is dwelling within the dangerous, scary memories of his past...(the sun) and his mind is like a pendulum, swinging from one thought to the next...he cannot move on, the future is laid out, but he cannot escape his past..
very good, i love this poem.
I would say it's about losing the care free, innocent, fun life of being a kid and not wanting to accept adulthood. like in the first three lines, it's talking about the child being under the grime and not wanting to disappear under the sands of time i.e... The childlike part of this person doesn't want to be swept away or forgotten. This is confirmed in the 6th line where is says his innocence is destroyed, the innocence being his child like nature. The poem then goes on to describe feelings of not getting to do everything the person wanted to and not wanting to accept their adulthood (3rd last and last lines).
Like someone who has had a horrible trauma filled past and has tried to block it out. Tried to leave out part of his/her life but can't fully do it and feels uncapable of moving on.
