You need to clean the refrigerate and the kitchen and the floors and hit all of the tables with pledge and vacuum and if the bath rooms need to be done then you better get going and get some thing to make the house smell good. Candles are a great way and smile when they walk in have fun

Go in the bathroom and polish everything.
Dust and make sure it sparkles.
Remove all the clutter and clean the mirrors and other surfaces.
Fresh towels.
From Front door - look around at what your eye sees.
Remove all the papers and clear the surfaces
Dust, polish and vac.
Add fresh flowers - doing one or two rooms really well is better than all rooms a little bit.
Remove visual chaos.
What a sweet daughter!

De-cluttering is first and foremost. General cleaning, and get a couple of fresh pots of mums; flowers always make a place look brighter and fresher. Ditto for plants.
And get everything you possibly can off the kitchen work surfaces.
Good luck with Mom!
p.s. Also put a glass of wine in her hand as quickly as possible to mellow her out. Works for me!

There are many resources available to help any keep their home organized.
Consider the idea of gathering items/clothing which you may no longer need and donating them to a local charity. Its a wonderful way to achieve your goal and most importantly helping another in need.
Its great that you want to go the extra mile to make your mother feel appreciated !
Perhaps you may want to reorganize the room
Changing curtains/rugs
Experiment with Colors/patterns
Candles/incense
Flowers/Plants
Organizers/Bins
These are just a few things that you can do to bring life to a room

A good dusting, a wiping down of glass surfaces (like the tv screen!) and a vacuuming should do it. Spritz the chairs/sofa with Febreeze and clean the bathroom with clorox clean-up and scrub the kitchen sink, too.
happy thanksgiving, and how nice of you to do that for your momma!

Make sure there is no clutter around. Organize everything as much as you can. THEN make sure you dust as much as possible. After that, vacuum/sweep/mop all the floors.

do away with the carpets and only have hardwood flooring. Paint the partitions white or sage green. Paint all woodwork and doorways soft white. If keyholes don't have brass escutcheon over it, fill the hollow with joint compound, enable dry, fill lower back if shrinks, then only paint over with the soft white paint.
