I don't. I don't really know why the mouth opens for that reason anyway.

You open your eyes up wider, and it stretches out the skin. Also I think it makes it so you don't blink as easily. Also maybe a concentration thing.
Really, I'm not sure if it makes that much of a difference because I did it with my mouth closed once just to see if I could do it, and I didn't have any problems. I think it is a habit more than anything.

Automatic concentration reaction, the brain focuses on the job in hand rather than control of the jaw, allowing the extra attention to go on guiding the hand with sharp, prickly, chemical laden brush round ones eye! The same principle applies to some people poking out their tongue a bit when concentrating on manual tasks.

Just like an artist, holding up their pencil to line up the landscape to the pencil, its a habit... a technique, opening your mouth, causes all the wrinkles to get stretched, therefore the eye mussels get stretched making the eyelid tight and uplifting the lid to create the perfect painted finish.
Wallah!

It's out of habit... my mouth is always open for some reason but when I am doing make up it's like if I open my mouth I have more control over my face... maybe not but like i said it's out of habit.

Don't u think it's sexy to have your eyes wide open and your mouth too? No really though! I don't know, but some people have their tongue to the side of their mouth when they draw and even clean up. Guess it means you have serious business!

It's from trying to widen your eyes as much as possible, for some odd reason when you open your mouth your face stretches and I guess your eyes are wider than usual.

Have you ever tried putting on mascara with your mouth shut? It's nearly impossible.

it could make applying mascara easier for some people.
its for concentrating closely on precision and detail of the eye.
it helps put ur hand in the way of your face better, for better application, also it could stop your nose from getting in the way of your hand during application or of the mirrior, if ur too close up.....
..i hope this makes some sense....??? : )
