Is it normal to still be walking around comfortable and not awkward this far along? I'm not very big, but I had an ultrasound when I was 31wks saying he measured 1wk 6days bigger, and was told he was 4pnds 6oz. then. How can there be something in me that size when I'm not huge??? I look like I'm maybe 6months or so! I've gained 30pnds (started out at 118 and 5'6") so it's a good weight gain. Anyone else not feel big enough but had a normal sized healthy baby. Doctor always says I'm doing perfect, but how can he be sure when he doesn't even measure my belly, just presses on it. Wouldn't he forget my progress from one visit to the next if, since he sees SO many other women in between? 1st pregnancy by the way if you couldn't tell!!!!

Every pregnancy is different and every woman carries her babies differently. Since this is your first, your uterus isn't as stretched out as much as women who have already had one child and can you might look smaller. If you are worried about what your doctor is doing tell him at your next visit that you want him to measure you for your own information. He has probably been doing this for so many years that unless he has detected a problem he doesn't even bother with the measurements. It doesn't hurt for you to ask for one though! Enjoy the comfort while you can because the last month of pregnancy your baby will be gaining 1/2 a pound a week! By 38-39 weeks you will feel like a whale. If you don't you are one of a very lucky few!

I'm 36 weeks pregnant with my first. I felt fine up until last week. I'm only 4 lbs over my prepregnancy weight because I lost a lot at the beginning from being sick.

Everyone tells me I'm tiny. The baby is fine though, some women carry differently then others. Being that you're 5'6" you have a longer torso then some shorter women so the baby has more room there and didn't have to go straight out.

Also the doctor is writing down all your information, even if you don't see him do it. He'll read your chart before each appt to remind himself of your info.

With my first...I felt comfortable and not awkward all the way up until I had her...which was at 38 weeks btw...I only gained a total of 17 lbs with her and nobody even knew I was pregnant until like 2 weeks before I had her...she only weighed 5lbs 12 oz...I'm 34 weeks with #2 now and I've gained 18lbs so far and feel huge...

I was the same way.... I didn't "pop" until I was 38 weeks.... and when I told people that I was, lets say, 34 weeks, they wouldn't believe me, because I looked barely pregnant....
As long as your healthy and the doctor says the baby is healthy, there is nothing to worry about!
And another thing, this was for my second baby.... usually your second your supposed to be HUGE and stuff.... I was so much smaller for my second than my third!!!
Give it time, maybe you just won't ever be uncomfortable during this pregnancy, thats a good thing :) Be positive!!!!
And you would be surprised what doctors remember!!! (I worked for a doctor for 3 years....)
Good luck!

Women carry differently. I looked like I was 1 trimester ahead with both my pregnancies so you know it was pretty bad my last trimester. The baby might not "pop" out equaling big belly until the last minute. I have a sister that didn't look pregnant until the last trimester and then overnight (and I'm not exaggerating) she was huge!!! I hate you for not looking pregnant!!!

It's fine! You are probably carrying more "in the back" than way out front. My cousin barely ever looked pregnant and she had an 9 lb boy at 39 weeks. Your uterus can push back and more up than out, and it's common and you're lucky! You'll have an easier time losing the tummy and the pouch afterwards!

Ya I had my daughter at 35 weeks and I had only gained 28 lbs. I felt big for me but, when I looked around I felt so small compared to others at my same pregnancy level!!!

The baby weighed 5lbs. 7 oz.

Good Luck to you

You are fine! I am sure they have done ultrasounds and such and know the measurments of the baby and if Dr. said baby is measuring fine, then don't worry about it.

could desire to be. I surely have by no ability felt my toddler drop nonetheless yet who is familiar with, i think it rather is possible. toddler dropping somewhat has no longer something to do with whilst he/she would have the capacity to come back. i might say you have have been given around 6 weeks supply or take.
