Latin rap and reggaeton are not "uncommon"... that stuff is all over the radio.

My favorite "uncommon" music is arabic groove (Arab-influenced dance music. Look for it in your CD store. If you like Latin rap and dance music you'll LOVE it), ska (I know there are a lot of ska groups out there but they hardly ever play it on the radio, so I guess that qualifies it as "uncommon"), real old blues (that "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" type music) and Lily Allen stuff (her music is a weird mix of ska, hip hop, reggae, Brit dance pop, etc.)

Ooooh, Balinese gamelan! Amazing, beautiful sounds. I also love extreme hardcore thrashpunk, which is not beautiful but sure feels good pounding through your ears.

The most uncommon of all is Tom Waits.

He's my favorite. His style spans rock, blues, experimental, balladry, and jazz. There is no substitute.
