im trying out for YPAS(youth performing art school) for ballet/dance and i have an interview, ac class, and everything. its a big process. any tips?

I think that the best thing you can do is look and act confident, not cocky or arrogant, just sure and confident. As a dance teacher, I am impressed with the girls who work hard and show me that they are willing to strive harder to improve. Attitude is a huge thing! Even if they may be having a bad day, and falling out of all their turns or whatever, the best girls will stay focused and confident, always keeping a performance-type look about them. If you mess up on a step or combination always finish it with style and never stomp your foot, or slump away, or mumble about how bad you messed it up.

When it comes to an audition like this, the interview can mean a lot. Be sure of yourself, look them in the eye when you speak. If given the chance, share from your heart. Let them know your dreams and why you can benefit from the program. Keep a smile on your face, don't look scared or intimidated. This is your chance to shine!
