Do you use flash cards to study?

I've started using them this semester and I cant believe I hadnt used them earlier. They are a great tool, not only do they help you research for the answers, but when you actually use them, you further reinforce the knowledge into your mind. I cant believe I used to laugh off at this method and think it was dumb.

I used them all the time in undergrad and grad school. I had a long commute and they were really easy to use while sitting in traffic.

Yes - I found them especially useful in learning a foreign language.

I studied Afrikaans for less than an academic year, and reached a comfort level suitable for travel and reading technical manuals - but oddly enough, way below what I needed for reading novels! - largely by practicing with index cards.

I focused on right before I fell asleep and right as I woke up, which are two really powerful periods of time for memory formation. I also carried my cards with me for constant reinforcement while on the bus, at lunch, etc.

This was when I was in graduate school, and had little time or energy, but needed to learn quickly.

I know a lot of people who use that method to study, although I'm more of a list and chart kind of person. I've used flashcards before, but for me seeing everything written on a chart next to each other is helpful for seeing the differences in the information you're trying to study. For exams, you can just visualize the chart and go from there.

I use them for any vocabulary I need to know, sometimes for science. I also use them to keep organized writing papers. Whenever I use a source, I write what I learned and what page it was on in the source, then I either number or color code the cards according to which source they're for. It's really easy and I never miss citing something that should be.

Flashcards are a mind-blowing learn help. And index playing cards make good flashcards. i ought to write the question at the front and positioned the answer(very small)the different way up on the bottom That way you should use the again of the playing cards for the subsequent technological knowledge unit. good success.

I personally never do, but my friends say that it helps them. They are easier to carry and they make you focus on the more importants facts and details. (however, I think a Hi-Liter does the same thing...but whatever works for you!)

Yes, I use them in Chemistry, Physic and New words.
You can buy Sparknotes studycards. They are small easy to bring with you, and they have big values.

I use them in Spanish but that's it because the other subjects I don't really need them.
