The appeal of pinball may be similar to Tetris.
Fundamentally the game involves bringing order to chaos- at least temporarily. The actions of the player are rewarded with sounds, lights and 'points'; which appeals to players on a basic level. Lastly the game occupies the mind and reactions without taxing it.
There is no final goal to a pinball game. The game continues indefinitely until the player runs out of lives.
