Congratulations that you are thinking about working during summer and learning some skills. Your age may put some restrictions. You will need permission from your school district.
What type of a job depends on your interests, abilities, and knowledge. Analyze that first and think about it. Discuss with your parents. You could work 1) as a front end assistant in retail such as an ice cream place; 2) as a tutor at one of the tutoring centers in your area; 3) as a helper at a library 4) as a nature helper at a local/national park or reserve 5) assisting with young kids in summer camps 6) assistant in an entertainment park such as Six Flags. Choices are many. I gave you a glimpse. Good luck/

You have limited options at your age, but I would suggest something in retail. Either fast food or other job where you will meet lots of people and begin to see how a business works. Grocery stores are also good for young people to learn how things work. That way you can begin to develop and idea about what you like and don't like.

usually you have to be 16 to legally work , but I think places like Mcdonalds or Burger King hire 14-year olds.
and yes, babysitting is always a great idea, but you need to have connections
good luck!
