I had one like that. When off-line I found which folder it was in, selected it, removed everything else to desktop by just dragging it, then deleted the folder with the suspect mpg still in it, make new folder and call it the original name and then put everything else back in the folder. IT WORKED!. It might seem long winded but it did the job. I suspect something like that is up to no good on the system and could be spyware or something.

Unless you know DOS I would suggest restarting your pc to "sytem restore" and pick a date before you downloaded the file. You have probably downloaded a Trogan, always check file size, if it under 1 meg don't download it regards

i couldn't believe it was that easy!!!!

just move everything else in a new folder right next to the one in wich u have the mpeg,and rename it after u have deleted the old one
by the way had this problem 2 years ago,didn't know what to do and it messed up my mother board from my old desktop.now if it had ruined my laptop i would have gone cucu

If you ran every anti virus and still nothing have you tried right clicking on it and select properties and if it somewhere in that dialogue box has a box "read only" and a little check box, untick it and try to delete it again. All I got.

this sounds pretty dodgey.
It is probably a virus dressed up as an mpg to get you to download and run it.
In your position, I would run every piece of anti virus, anti-adware and anti-spyware I could get my hands on.
