Looking beyond the oil, are they a rich and wealty nation?

What is their economy like - strong, weak, too dependant on oil exports?

Living conditions there? Poverty?

Some hard evidence and stats please.

No evidence sorry but I can say that they do have industries but the oil revenues should overshoot any industrial generated earnings. Thats the biggest oil reserve in world I think (or at least next to Iran/Iraq). There wont be poverty in its conventional sense but rather the expatriate workers from the Asian subcontinent may have improper living conditions (something you should look up). Main thing that effects non-local people is the lack of religious fre edom, even though the royalty 'seem' to approve of tolerance, the religious police will not tolerate anything, thus many christ ian missionar ies get into serious trouble and stuff... No religious articles are allowed in the coutry (e.g. your rosary, crucifix gets discarded on arrival). Search wikipedia.com for more information on what you want.

Based on what I saw when I was there,most of the country depends on oil revinue to support itself. The bulk of the wealth is held by a very few.

Strong economy...
living conditions pretty good !

oil rich ( Royal Family)
generally poor ( Gen Pop)

We open wal mart over there ( all poor)

both. its a monarchy, so all is controled by goverment.
the goverment is rich, but the people that live there are
very poor

I think its a rich country in GDP but poor in per capita income.
