Dear American People,

What do you mean THANKS GIVING? You are thankful for the Native people giving you land and you killing our people? How dare you! And all we get is lousy casinos? This holiday is shameful and you should be ashamed to celebrate! Not to mention the shame you should feel for eating a defenseless turkey! You can not seriously believe it good to celebrate our demise!

Absolutely, Why should we celebrate the fact that we stole land from Native Americans and then the utter disgrace of how we mistreated them. taking away their dignity and forcing them to starve in reservations after killing their warriors. Our treaties were white man's forked tongue lies.

Well, Chief, the original Thanksgiving was celebrated by the Pilgrims AND the Native Americans in Massachusetts. The tradition has been handed down now for generations. I love the holiday and feel no more guilty about eating a turkey than I do part of a cow when I have a good steak. Thanksgiving is NOT a holiday celebrating the killing of Indians, and those "lousy casinos" you refer to exist at the request and will of the various Indian groups. Time to forget the past and move on. Things will never return to what was.

Chow!!

Thanksgiving started before all that took place: The Pilgrims celebrated making it through their first year in America with the help of the local Indian tribes. Who was at the celebration as well so the Pilgrims could think the local Indians for helping them survive the first year. And has been a feast ever since. Read your history.
You saying you are a native American and vegan! What is wrong with that picture! ! ! ! !

Speaking for Powhatan? I wouldn't.

Honestly I think most of us just do the holiday because it's a tradition that brings family together and lots of food. Many cultures have had harvest festivals anyhow.

Well, they made mistake, a very bad one. So they are trying to say sorry for it. And when there is war, there is nothing bad about killing your enemy. I'm not American by the way.
This is not a homework help question, move it to politic.
