It is well recognized that correct spelling is not necessary to understanding the meaning of a piece of writing. It is also true that we do not need to know every word or be able to read every word to understand the meaning.

Yes, I do find it interesting. It probably stems from people learning to read from bad spelling. Just kidding. It just shows that people don't read letter-by-letter, they 'read' an entire word at a time, unlike what researchers previously thought.
