I want to erase a short word from a document and then change it. I however do not want any one to be able to recognise that I have done this. Therefore, tip-ex would not be viable. Also the background paper is pink.

Is it an official document? if so it would not be legal to do this.

If the background had been white, you could have used a cotton bud dipped in a weak bleach solution. The cotton bud would need to be almost dry to avoid flooding over too wide an area. Anything tried on a coloured background would probably be very noticeable. Would it not be possible to have the document scanned, altered and reprinted on pink coloured paper? I'm assuming you are not attempting something against the law?

There used to be an old trick with MOT certificates where the ink was 'washed-out' with brake fluid. How successful it was I have no idea. You sound as though you are trying to fiddle something anyway, so perhaps you shouldn't hope for any success.
