i would have to pretend i didn't hear anything... and maybe bring it up later about what they were saying. Lead them into it and get it out in the open.

The question really is "Were they ever really your friend"?
Lets look at both sides of this, they could be two faced and if they are you don't need them because they don't understand what it means to be a friend. There is a difference in an acquaintance and a friend. But it might be that what they are saying about you behind your back is true and maybe you need to take a close look at yourself. Either way, they should come to you rather than talking behind your back.
You should go to them and discuss this problem with them and see what their explanation is before you just dump them. Real friends are hard to find and you will not have many really true friend in your life time.

I wouldn't remain friends with them after what you heard. I wouldn't get revenge on them but I would definitely tell them our friendship is over because you heard them say....You deserve better than them.

They are not your friends if they speak badly about you. Think of a way to let your "friends" know that you know they were talking badly about you. Then move on and leave them in the dust!

I wouldn´t, but it depends on the kind of bad talk, if it is innocent I might just ignore it....if they are really mean or even making things up I wouldn´t want to stay friends with them.

Friends don't do that to other friends. I say don't remain friends. If you really like them, confront them about it.

It depends. If the friend realizes his/her mistake u should just put it in your past. But if they keep doing it u should tell them that u don't feel like being friends with a LOSER! and walk away!

no, u should not even consider them as friends because friends don't talk friends. tell them that u know about what they say and thank them for the so called friendship and walk away.
