Not necessarily - unless she is at some GREAT disadvantage by not being let in (i.e. a scholarship is only available at THAT school, say).

There is nothing inherently wrong with single-sex learning institutions. The public schools are figuring that out now, and experimenting with single-sex classrooms.

If it's a private school, then that's for the school to decide - you pays your money and you takes your pick of schools, in that case.

If it's a state school, that's a bit different. For me, it depends whether there is a girls' school of equivalent standard in the area - if there is, then the answer is no, there is no need to allow girls into the all boys school (and vice versa).

If, however, there isn't an equivalent standard girls' school in the area, then girls should be allowed in, on the basis of equality.

I think there is a lot to be said for single-sex education, although perhaps it doesn't suit all temperaments, but there are fewer distractions for hormonal teenagers when they are only surrounded by others of the same, rather than the opposite, sex. In addition, I feel that modern children and teenagers probably don't need school to teach them how to interact with the opposite sex.

Having gone to an all girls school, I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to go anywhere other than a co-ed school. Lets face it, the world is mixed so why this segregation? It doesn't stop girls or boys thinking about the other sex if they are in single sex schools - it makes the opposite sex more appealing instead of being just other people you see everyday!

No. The whole point of the school is to have only boys. Usually, the reasoning is that it allows boys to be better focused on their studies as they're not spending their time in class and in the hallways trying to be all macho to impress girls. There won't be kids hanging out to make-out or anything like that.

Allowing girls in would totally defeat the point of the school!!

the sole ingredient that concerns is that my childrens get the main suitable goddamn training i grants them. females' faculties, boys' faculties, are the academics any stable? i elect them writing and thinking greater valuable than the kiddies right here. and how dare you recommend that boys attending an all-females college could obtain an inferior training? If a boy went, it does not be an all-females college now, could it? And my sons could have of venture to coach the honour in direction of all people that I coach them.

I believe there should not be any boys or girls only schools, and believe it should be mixed up of both genders, because of communication and understanding each other better as we all grow. If there was just just gender school, it would lead to misunderstandings, and create communication barrier and there would more fights between each other.

I say yes. This is the 21st century. Most schools are co-ed and some people just are having a hard time with dealing with it. Unless it's a boarding school I say yes it should be co-ed.

Statistically, boys do much worse than girls in secondary school. It is also recognised that boys in single sex education do far better than boys in mixed schools, although still lagging behind the girls. Keep girls out of boys schools.

I would say No.....Why do we only read about women trying to get into mens organizations....I mean if Michele Wie can play golf on the mens tour why cant men play on the ladies tour? or

Boys join the girl scouts
Men work out at Curves
etc
Gender equality only works if it goes both ways....
