This email makes a valid point, but ignores the basic nature of majority influence. The simple fact is that throughout American history, the majority of its citizens have been white - less so now than in previous years, but still, most of the population is white. And having the largest group has allowed white people to maintain the most power and influence in politics, culture, economics, etc in America. So let's face it, white people in American society do enjoy a certain dominant influence and validation that is not shared by people of color... where this disparity has been intentional or accidental is a moot point. The disparity exists.
White people don't need to march for rights that they already have, and have had for generations. White people don't need to seek help from the few other white people willing to help them, because there are multitudes of white people willing to help them. White people don't need a special cable channel featuring white actors, because most tv channels already feature mostly white people. Do you see the point here? The majority group doesn't notice just how prevalent they are, because they are everywhere, and it is only the "different," the minority, that stands out.
To refute some of the other claims... it's never okay for anyone to use derogatory names, no matter what their race or the race of their victim. (When was the last time you heard any of those names on TV?) In the list of holidays, you forgot President's Day, Christmas, Easter, Columbus Day (think European colonialism that wiped out half the native population), Thanksgiving (think white Protestant Pilgrims), and so on. Notice this email also promotes a strong "us versus them" theme; keeping everyone in separate groups instead of trying to build bridges and bring people together.
Certainly no race and no country can claim total innocence and goodness... no matter how many injustices were heaped upon one group, they have in turn oppressed or hurt another group at some time or another. We all have much to be proud of, and much to be ashamed of. Let's stop pointing fingers and shaking fists... and instead start shaking hands and working together.

Whoever wrote it gave themselves away so may times it's pathetic - and it is without question a racist tract. A lot of the points are blatantly ignorant, but the main issue I have is with the writer's ridiculous idea of symmetry of offense.
Reduced to it's "logical" core, the contention is that a certain act, whether committed by person X, or by person Y, should be judged equally. Really? By that reckoning, if a guy walks up to me and slaps me in the face because he hates people like me, I would be just as guilty of assault as he is if I slapped him back - after all, a slap is a slap.
The point is not that I'm right in slapping him back. The point is that in this case my "assault" resulted from his actions - not from my hatred of people like him. You may accuse me of over-reacting or being imprudent, or whatever. But it's damned obvious the two acts cannot be judged equally.
The writer suffers from this myopia of "sameness." Of course it's wrong for a black person to call a white person any offensive name. But is it the same as when a white person calls a black man a *****er? It may even be that we can say that the black man is indeed a "racist" when he insults the white man, but that STILL doesn't make it the same thing. (In much the same way as I and my slapper were both stupid, but guilty of different things.)
And I believe a lot of the "minority" anti-white sentiment mimics the response of the guy who got slapped first in my scenario above. It's a nasty, defensive reseponse - a sort of "payback."
How does that work? Simple. Since time immemorial the power in this country has been held almost exclusively by people who, for example, considered blacks inferior beings. (I know this, I been around here a long time.) For a large part of my own lifetime, blacks were effectively less than second-class citizens. What exactly did people expect from that continuous debasement and denigration, that constant slapping?
Yes, I know, everyone will say "It got better." And did they expect that the reality of the struggle for getting things "better" wouldn't highlight the reluctance of the "majority" to make it that way? And by the way, after all this "betterment," how much porportional power do blacks wield?
And here's where the race thing can rear its ugly head yet again, as we can read in the text in question - with the implications that ghettoes are the natural place for blacks, or that crime and blackness are necessary complements of each other.
Summary: It's wrong to insult anyone, but let's give no credence to these shallow comparisons that only serve to hide the real intentions of the comparer.

Or lets see how many of you are ignorant enough to forward it.
You post stuff like this, and blacks are the racist ones?
1. BET is the stupidest argument out there. Its owned by white people (Viacom) capitolizing off the hip hop culture. And there are plenty of stations out there where you will ONLY see white faces. But, of course you don't mention that.
2.Black people have no problem with white pride. You should be proud of who you are. We have a problem with white supremacy.
3. There are college scholarship funds specifically for white people. Google it.
4. There are white colleges. They are just called Ivy League. And I guarantee you that it would be easier for a white person to get into a historically black college than it would for a black person to get into an ivy league school.
5. There was nothing racist or discriminatory about the million man march. They were marching to get the attention of leaders and to help improve the conditions in our community. How would that be a problem??? Thats good for everyone.
6. Af far as crimes... every race has its bad apples. I've seen more white criminals on America's Most Wanted than black people. That is just an ignorant statement. Ok... black people car jack, white people are serial murderers and rapists. Doesn't that sound ignorant????
7. Its not okay for anyone to make racial slurs. And don't act like every black person you come across does that. And, I'm sorry, but "cracker" and "honky" will never carry the same weight as the "N word". It may hurt and it may piss you off, but hundreds of years of people in power using that word to demean a whole race of people is hardly the same.
I could really go on and on, but the fact of the matter is that a majority of you are probably racist. You have absolutely no compassion, no understanding, and basically no sense of reality. You need to educate yourselves. White people are and will probably always be the preferred race. So, no you are not the victim.
Of course i'll probably get many thumbs down, which will only prove my point.

Your e-mail has a lot of misleading claims in it, but its major theme is that whites are somehow disadvantaged in America. That's an odd claim given that whites remain the most overprivileged group in this country.
Most history in America is about whites; most schools serve whites; most scholarships are awarded to whites, most wealth is in the hands of whites, the instruments of government are overwhelmingly in the hands of whites and one entire branch of the federal government has only EVER been held by white men.
Whites live longer than members of any other group ( maybe other than Asians) and have a sense of entitlement that shames anyone else by a huge margin. Whites as a group should have no beef whatsoever with their place in America so stop your complaining.
And if a white cop beats up a black drug dealer but uses only reasonable force with a white drug dealer, then yes, that is racist and should be seen and punished as such. People don't lose the right to equal enforcement of the law just because they're black and some white cop's got a racial beef.
As for the racial names of organization, those all arose in reaction to non-whites being excluded by whites. So if you don't want a BET, let's see a full range of programming featuring all of America's diversity and not one or two non-whites sprinked among overwhelmingly white casts all the time. You want no ethnic chambers of commerce, then make the overwhelmingly white chambers more welcoming.
The only reason you don't have a white history month, or a white entertainment channel is because almost all institutions in this country are white by default, so there's no need to belabor the point by adding the word white to the names.

Yeah. Well that email is of course racist rhetoric. It's amazing sometimes how some whites feel they are suffering so much in todays society! In generalizing, white people have had the upper hand and control from the minute they set foot on this land and proceeded to take it over. It's about time other ethnic groups have recognition and rights. It's been a struggle for the rest of us. Hate groups are still preaching supremacy. What purpose does it serve to drag a 72 year old man behind a truck, tearing his body apart. What purpose does it serve to shoot two children ages 12 and 14 in the back as they are walking home from the store. What purpose did it serve to hang and murder and mutilate the African Americans in the past as they strived for equality. What purpose did it serve to horribly murder a 14 year old boy because a white woman said he whistled at her. I could go on and on and on about YOUR history. NOW the same rights and considerations that whites harbored and kept from every other race is being demanded and you put this "email" on crying boohoo look what's happening to the white race. Come on.

There are people who think like that but yet their are others that don't and you should not included them in it and plus there are no just Americans. Also other race people (that are not "White") are not the only people who commit crimes. The whole world does and if i was "White" ill be proud of it no matter what *some* people may say. Either way no one is really "White" since nobody has a white background.

I feel racism is a misnomer and should be called 'cultural-ism'.
White people live in ghettos and rob people, Some black people despise other blacks because of how they present themselves. Maybe it's a moot point but I think there would be a lot less confusion if this was labeled properly. I'm not proud to be white, I'm proud to be honest and intelligent and educated. Of course I'm sure there's a whole different label for that - snob maybe. Racism by definition is ridiculous - and if you look closely, it really is differences in cultures and beliefs that causes this kind of rivalry.

You do have a point that there is a double standard but you also have to look at historically why there's a double standard. These orginizations were started by racists themselves... to "create" equality and EXEMPLIFY themslves from their true feelings.
However in my opinion these well meaning organizations have only perpetuated hatred by separating the races rights. When we have EQUAL rights we will have equality. Like it or not... THAT is the truth.

That person is not proud of his/her race.
Rather, this person is spreading hatred.
Being proud of your race does not involve the concerns of other races or putting others down.
Example: If you are such a high level, why would you stoop to other people's levels by calling others racist names?
It's nothing but mere bull sh1t
My thing is if you're going to speak your mind, do so like a real man or woman. At least I'll give you respect for that.
Please dont hide behind the lame excuse of being discriminated against.

Whether its truth or not, to send out an email like this is just participating in the insanity. Rather than get worked up about something like this, just work on being the best person you can be, whether that be the best white person, hispanic person etc. Let your actions be an example of what you want to be portrayed about you and yours.
