Nah, we have enough holidays already. In fact, get rid of some holidays, like Columbus day, or Presidents day. They're basically useless and flawed traditions. Other holidays, especially religious holidays are based on flawed information and corrupt interpretations, but are now mainstream because it generates money for big business.
If you really feel we should have another holiday, August has no holidays. Stick one in that month. Can't think of a good solid reason to have one though.

We already have enough holidays glorifying capitalism and taking away from the meaning of the holiday itself or as an excuse for a day off from work. Each one of us, as individuals, need to learn to celebrate their favorite holiday every day of the year. If you're favorite Holiday is Christmas, show that spirit year around, not just in December. If you're favorite holiday is Veterans Day, show your appreciation to a Veteran every day of the year, not just on November 11. Each individual chooses their holiday/way of life instead of the government/religions deciding for all of us on what day we will honor and respect that which is dear to us. Good question, by the way...

There are enough silly holidays as it is. Do we honestly need a month or day for everything? Check out some of the wacky holidays we celebrate at bluemountain.com. Chocolate Day....Take a Bubble Bath Day? Friday is "Sleep in late" day! We don't need anymore so called "holidays".

I'm not sure if this is already considered a holiday, but the idea of a winter holiday similar to christmas that isn't denominated by religion sounds awesome.
I think Festivus (from Seinfeld) would be awesome

A festivus for the rest of us!
