It depends upon where you teach. Some places require a certification in Adult Education (and this can usually be satisfied during the early months of your employment). Other places require a BA in English, and others require an MA in Teaching ESL.

Regardless of the requirements you'll need, it's good to have a grasp on adult learning theories, and second language acquisition.

To work in a private school (a privately-owned business or franchise) you'll need a TEFL or TESL certificate (like the Cambridge CELTA mentioned above) that included supervised teaching practice. Online certficates won't cut it.

To work in a college or university, you normally need an undergraduate degree and then a Master's degree in either TESL or Applied Linguistics.

find another field to teach
its all part time and full time jobs are very hard to get
