aside from turkey? Well, hold up tight cause I'm gonna list you a feast now (and I'm leaking my lips while doin' so):
- Fried Potatoes
- Some nice tasty fish
- stuffing in the Turkey or possibly in a chicken!
- some other cooked meat like ham would be good.
- salads
- Wine or other alcoholic beverages
- Juices for the kids
- Beer if you wanna go easy (you could add pickles)
- Have some nice descert by the end of the thanksgiving dinner including fruites, ice cream, cake, pies, and cookies (home-made if you're good)
If you're planning to take some of those foods I mentioned to your Thanksgiving Dinner Table, be my guest. However I must warn you, that if you decide to use up pretty much all of what's in the listing, you'd better have at least 10 adults for the feast. If you don't, then I suggest you also buy a cleanex because you could expect some people vomitting cause the food is gonna be delicious and there's gonna be too much of it for your guests to finish in one night if you don't have much guests coming over.
Well, I'm done here. Enjoy and have a very happy Thanksgiving.
P.S.: Apparently I've answered this question the wrong way all along... Well, if I were you I'd start at around 2. See, this feast is gonna be quite long... around 8 hours of celebration. That means there'll be both Dinner, Supper, and possibly a 5th meal. Appetising, isn't it?

Years ago, it was normal to have Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving day.
But that has changed in today's world and it isn't uncommon for families to have dinner on another day, just because of conflicts due to work, due to logistics, weather factors, and other reasons. We don't choose it to be that way, it is just the way our society has evolved.
As for the best time of day? That varies with every family, but with our clan, we usually had our Thanksgiving dinner about 1, if possible. Most of the time that was satisfactory until we children moved away and married and had kids of our own. Then our lives became more hectic and it wasn't unusual to have dinner at noon or as late as 6, and I know this to be true of many friends as well.
So a good time for you will depend on your circumstances. You figure out the time according to when expected members are to arrive, for starters.
How you determine the time is your personal choice.

I hate when people have Thanksgiving dinner at something like 2:00 in the afternoon! I prefer 5:00 or 6:00 PM; however, since I will be a guest at someone's house tomorrow, I will go with the flow and have dinner at 4:00 PM.

My family always had it as a noon meal and that's what we'll be doing this year. My husband's family always had it as dinner. I guess some people have it in the middle of the afternoon.
My parents are driving in from out of town and leaving the same evening, so we'll be doing it around 1pm.
But, hey, anytime is a good time. If you do it later, just make sure you have lots of hors d'oeuvres on hand to keep people from getting too hungry.
Have fun!
