I don't know how anyone can't like the guy.
People had a chip on their shoulder about this guy even before he got to the NBA. He had that brawl incident when he was a teenager, and it's like he's had to fight it ever since. I also think too many people just see him as a thug because he wears cornrows and has tattoos. I don't care how he looks, I just admire the way he plays.
Iverson has played through as much pain an injury as almost anyone over the past five years, and he never gives less than his all while he's on the court. His numbers speak for themselves, but it's his effort that I think makes him even better. When the U.S. was getting their butts handed to them at the 2004 Olympics, Iverson was one of the few who seemed to be giving it his all, and he also took the losses with humility.
He's a definite HOFer, and one of the best players of his generation. I'd like to see him get a championship, but I'm not sure that it will happen. Either way, it shouldn't detract from a great career.

I would love to have Allen Iverson my favorite team, as a fan and as a GM. He not only brings scoring and assists, but he works his *** off on the defensive end. He will play injured and hurt and give it his all every single game. He has an MVP from 2001 and made it to the Finals that year so he can win when surrounded by good players. What more can you want?

A ton of heart, overachiever, baller.
Also never a met a shot he wouldn't take. 45 points on 12 of 30 shooting with a pile of free throws is a problem.

Pound for pound, he is the strongest, toughest and best player in the NBA.
These people who say he's not as good as he used to be obviously don't follow the NBA too closely. Stats so far this season:
PPG - 28.7
APG - 7.7
SPG - 1.8
RPG - 2.9
Those look pretty good to me,

You know, he lives around me somewhere. When his cousin was playing baseball at our school he came to the games. I don't know him though. Maybe I could go over to where he lives and see how he is doing and get back to you. But I think there are alot of guys over there making sure people don't do that. What do you think?
