i put him in the tank at about 4 o clock.he was huging the heater at first.now he seams to be hideing behind the filter.but because i have quite a large filter,he is getting on top,and is near the top of the tank.i just think he is trying to excape.i could kill my sons.lol

Do you have any rocks or something else in the tank they could hide under or on? They might be afraid of being in such a large place and might feel exposed. Remember, in the wild, they were seagull food. They still have those instincts. It sounds like you just got them today, so try to give them so time to adjust. You probably just put their tiny brains on overload. Hope this helps and good luck with your new additions to the family!!

It is hard to tell what your crayfish are doing by "escape" they like to hide provide them with cavelike structures, besure to have the water quality right, keep the tank well aired and filtered, and they will be happy. more details may get a better answer.

They are out of their natural environment. They like to hide. Do you supply them with air?
