gas and oil prices are determined by supply and demand on the world market. Neither oil companies nor republicans control prices. Only thing they could do is build more refineries, which would result in greater supplies of gasoline, which would reduce prices further. Liberals don't like refineries, because they think they cause pollution and are beholden to the environmental lobbyists. Oil companies don't build refineries, because they can't with govt approval and they're making big profits as things are, so there's no incentive to build them.

the final citizen would not be attentive to who in charge different than the guy who posts the upward push in cost. What they fail to think approximately is that a ingredient to the upward push is with the aid of the EURO attempting to break the U. S. greenback. WIth the devalued greenback OUR fee according to barrel is going up while every person elses fee keeps to be a similar. while the OPEC international locations positioned a cap on daily productions regardless of the daily consumpsion, this motives the 'speculators' to wring their hands yell the sky is falling and motives the fee to advance much greater. As for me, I hate paying the better expenses additionally, yet i don't elect to confirm some government weasle step in and take over the industry. I definitely have mutual earnings my retirement bills that could desire to be construction greater fee if the oil companies are relatively making a killing. difficulty is they're definitely on a downward slide, not hiking. So it relatively is lower back to sq. one...the greenback is dropping floor for the reason that's being attacked by utilising the EURO AND the U. S. is falling at the back of in synthetic products.....we are making our funds on hypothesis, 'tips' and little or no manufacturing. The pwoers that be sent all the hard artwork artwork distant places to maintain funds...They greater valuable get the manufacturing jobs lower back in the event that they elect to maintain the country.... look on the checklist....the biggest benefit is in tips products, of which the definitely devises are made distant places. Then the subsequent greatest is BANKS....extreme INTREST DEBT....getting funds off your borrowing against your destiny...Then Ciggies and medicines....

I don't know where you live but in my area they were the lowest for the week before the election.
Within a half hour after the poles closed the price jumped 40 cents a gallon and has been rising 2-3 cent per day since.
Meanwhile the price of oil keeps getting lower and lower.

Because its the time of year when gas prices tend to get lower. Look at history. Every winter gas prices go down because people tend to do less driving.

If you look at the price per barrel, its coming down, thats good. On the bad side, OPEC is talking about cutting production, which will cause the price of oil to go up.
The Democrats want to blame big oil companies for all their ills but it dont work that way. Here is an example.
big Oil company is doing well in the Gulf of Mexico. Oil is at 40-50 dollars a barrell and yes, they have drill ships and all on contract with them. The daily rate for a drill ship is about $180,000.00 per day to punch holes in the ocean and hunt for oil.
Now, OPEC, who controls the price of oil, simply by increasing or decreasing production, cuts it way back and now, the oil is $75.00 per barrell. That means the price at the pump goes up and we, the consumer have to pay more. Now Big Oil company is paying the higher price for the crude oil they import and when they gas up, yes, they pay the price at the pump. Only one big problem, to find more oil, they have to hire more drill ships and since the price of oil is up, so is the price of the drill ship.
Transocean had a day rate of the 180 grand prior to the big price jump. Now, ifs about $800,000.00 per day for the same drill ship. While Big Oil is making more profit over last year, they are paying out a lot more too. They have to pay more in wages, contract labor, equipment and everything else across the board.
If you run a small business, you would suffer the same things. When the cost of filling the tanks on your trucks goes up, hiring contractors to do a job for you costs more, you people need more money, cause the cost of living goes up.
See the vicious cycle we live in. Its not as easy as the Democrats say it is. Basic economics can explain most everything in business. You dont tax people out of business or out of existance.

They are holding off on increasing gas prices til after the new year. The increase in gas at this time would be absolutely detrimental to the economy. Everyone is going to be holiday shopping. If gas increases, then the amount of gifts purchased decreases. The oil companies also own other businesses, perhaps in retail.

Sometimes it gets so boring and not even worth my time answering some of these, but I will try to do it quick, for one thing they are still higher then they were before bush, another thing on record, the oil companies have made RECORD profits, for the record, have you ever ever ever ever heard BEFORE Bush came in, a storm or hurricane making prices go up, did you know they took away so many laws that were meant to conserve the oil in the USA, did you know that it is now law, that tax money explores and finds the oil and natural gas, in the USA and around the world and after tax money is used to find the oil, then the republican owned oil companies can go in and drill, saving them billions,,,,mmmmmmmm at the same time our prices keep going up, we have had record high prices, The democrats are probably threatening things if they don't keep prices down when they take control of house, just look at this open minded, I can go on and on and on and on and on and on with FACTS, I can tell you SO SO SO much more but am to tired...................................... All of these things are common knowledge unless you’re only watching Fox and ABC and even then its only broadcast once but if you do research you will still find. Don’t even look at this thing as a Republican VS Democratic thing because I don’t thing your uneducated brain could handle that much, look at in a right or wrong thing, not US VS Them, DUMMY!!!
And please don’t give me the whole supply and demand fox news thing, the whole commodity thing also started after bush came in, OK sometimes on holiday weekend you will find allot of people who will drive, and you will find MUCH MORE people who stay home.
You know the FAR RIGHT targets uneducated, unhappy, misguided middle class white angry people and tell them the liberals are why they are so unhappy and because they are so misguided and angry and unhappy they believe it and blame everything on them

LET ME START BY SAYING THANK-YOU FOR ASKING THIS QUESTION.
NEXT, I'D LIKE TO INTRODUCE YOU TO EMPERICAL THOUGHT.
THE ANSWER IS THAT IT IS SUPPLY AND DEMAND. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A EQUILIBRIUM OF BALANCE BETWEEN THE 2. IT HAS LITTLE TO DO WITH POLITICS AND MUCH TO DO WITH MARKET FORCES.
I'M NOT SAYING THERE ISN'T CORRUPTION IN ANY POLITICAL POLITICAL PARTY, IT WOULD BE NAIVE TO SAY THERE ISN'T, BUT IT IS A BIG ECONOMY WITH VERY LARGE NUMBERS, AND THAT IS WHERE THE BUBBER MEETS THE ROAD. BUT, TO BLAME A SITUATION ON A CERTAIN GROUP OF PEOPLE IS CALLED SCAPEGOATING. NOONE WANTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IN SOCIETY FOR SOCIAL ILLS, SO PEOPLE SCAPE GOAT.
ANSWER:
THE ECONOMY IS ADJUSTED IN AN ECONOMIC WAY TO PRODUCE A DESIRED OUTCOME.
ANSWER FOR YOU:
STEP OUTSIDE OF YOUR BOX. ENTER INTO OBJECTIVITY AND USE CRITICAL THOUGHT AS A GUIDE TO WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON.

Well, since they're the ones who raised it sky high to begin with, lowering it a bit is not sufficient to counter the initial taint of 'Bad Guyness.' And, in my city, it's gone right back up again since the elections, by twenty cents or more, so---you were saying?
