I think that he has a mixed record. Although he has done a great deal to bring Russia out of the dark ages and into an energy giant in waiting, he has also done his fair share of things to quell internal discontent within Russia. The best example of this is his overt control of the media and his elimination of people who express popular discontent. Recently a Russian journalist named Anna Politkovskaya was murdered in very suspicious circumstances. He seems a good leader, but i think people should be suspicious of him even if only for his KGB past.

A mixed bag. He is pushing an appropriate agenda for Russia, but some of his methods leave a lot to be desired. The necessary checks and balances are not working well in Russia at this time.

Once KGB, always KGB. He seems a bit more fascist than communist these days. I look for a harsh blow to be dealt to Georgia just when we're in the thick of dealing w/Iran or NK. I also expect China to do the same w/Taiwan at the same time.
May you live in interesting times.

Instead of being stupidly evil, like our president, he is brilliantly evil. He is such a perfect villain that I am thrilled at the drama. Bush is such a clumsy villain that he makes me want to vomit. I would not want either of them to be in a position to effect world affairs. Unfortunately they both are. But Putin is much better theater.

While I believe he is a very intelligent man, I also believe he is a professional politician, therefore he is a double-dealing snake who speaks from several mouths in his face according to what the situation of the moment dictates.

it would easily placed a clean slant on the previous song. as a substitute of: in case you're blue and you don't be attentive to the place to circulate to, Why do no longer you circulate the place trend sits, Puttin' on the ritz? substitute: in case you're pink, have money and desire a sturdy mattress, Why do no longer you connect the Yanks and Brits, Stayin' on the Ritz?
